Symbols of the Faith
Har Nishan Sahib
At the heart of Ravidassia identity is the Har Nishan Sahib, the sacred flag of the faith. This emblematic banner is more than just a symbol — it represents the spiritual sovereignty, unity, and freedom of the Ravidassia community.
Usually displayed at religious and cultural centers (Sabhas) around the world, the Har Nishan Sahib is a powerful visual representation of the values Guru Ravidass Ji stood for: equality, justice, dignity, and divine truth.
Color & Design
Typically saffron or blue in color, the flag often bears the sacred symbol of "Har", a divine name for God revered in the faith.
Placement
It is prominently hoisted at Ravidassia places of worship, symbolizing the eternal presence of Guru Ravidass Ji’s teachings and the community's commitment to living by his message.
Spiritual Meaning
The Har Nishan Sahib inspires followers to uphold the ideals of Begumpura, to serve humanity selflessly, and to walk the path of Naam Simran (remembrance of God).
The flag is not only a unifying symbol for Ravidassias worldwide but also a beacon of hope and resistance against social injustice — reminding all who see it of the ongoing journey toward a more just and compassionate world.
